Description

Bought from Dep International Ltd UB40. Dep Int’l was the business/Management arm of UB40, the company managed the band & recording studios in Birmingham UK.

the bass was sold in an attempt to avoid administration & bankruptcy, they failed of course, many instruments & the studios were liquidated & sold off without provenance, at least we have the letter with this one with corresponding serial number,
probably one of a a handful of identifiable UB40 instruments from the original band prior to the demise in 2006.

The bass was sold by the band for 2500 pounds around $4k back then, around $3k at todays exchange, the band sold the bass to Richard Henry of Richard Henry Guitars, it has had one owner since then, basically a collector so the bass is exactly as it was when owned by UB40, original gig bag included
